This morning’s dense fog reminded me of a powerful illustration God gave me this summer… In the dense fog its impossible to see your neighbors house. There’s no solid evidence that its still there but you know with certainty it is. Driving down the road, it can be consumed by the fog making it appear as though the street simply vanishes. Yet, you don’t pull over or stop the car because you know it is still there.
In life there are times when we feel consumed by the fog of stress, struggles and challenges. Our vision becomes clouded. God feels so distant or all together absent. But just as you know your neighbor or the road ahead remain despite the limited vision on a foggy day, when life’s fog surrounds you, rest confidently with great assurance that God is still there.
Romans 8:38-39 tells us “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor Christ Jesus our Lord”
The next time you see fog, smile and be reminded that nothing can ever separate you from God!
