worthWith all the excitement of Christmas just around the corner, it’s a great time to discard some of the common messages of self worth we can too often get from the world around us throughout the year….

You are not defined by the number of presents under your tree,
Or the number of sales you’ve conquered,

Your worth is not defined by the number of Christmas cards you’ve received,
Or by how many parties you’ve been invited to.

Your value isn’t determined by the number of friends you have on FaceBook,
the number of followers you have on Twitter,
by the number of the repins on Pintrest or likes on Instagram.

Your worth isn’t based on the number on your bathroom scale,
the number on the tag in your clothes,
or the name on the label.

Your worth doesn’t diminish by the number of troubles in your past,
or the size of the trials you may have in your present.

It doesn’t change if you’ve reached your dreams,
you’re still finding your way,
or if your dreams have shattered at your feet.

Your worth doesn’t change if you are single,
married,
divorced,
or widowed.

It isn’t defined by the number of children your have,
if you have any at all.

It’s not defined by the choices,
the successes,
or the failures of your children.

Your worth isn’t determined by who your parents are
or how they lived their life.
Your personal value is not impacted by if they showed you love,
or left your heart hungry.

Your worth isn’t impacted if you’ve received much acclaim
or if you’ve been broken by insults, bullied or put down.

Your worth isn’t defined by your past mistakes,
your regrets,
your missteps,
or lost opportunities.

It isn’t defined by what you’ve acquired,
Where you live,
or the square footage of your home.

Most of all, your worth isn’t limited to how you feel about yourself,
if you’re happy,
content,
and currently love your life,

Or if right now you are weighed down,
struggling,
and life feels heavy.

All these things together don’t define your worth.
They don’t impact it,
at all.

You are worth so much more!

This Christmas resist the temptation to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of a busy holiday season, and instead by reminded,
Or learn anew you’re true worth.

Because, your true worth isn’t all those things the world often tells you it is.

This Christmas as you see the lights and decorations, take note.

Take note that the little baby in the manger isn’t just another Christmas decoration,
but He is the most valuable gift you can ever receive.

He is the gift that should help you to really see your worth.

In that manger, your Heavenly Father gave you the most precious gift, His only son,
Just for you.

Because,
He loves you that much,
He values you that much,
He cares that much.
And no matter what you or the world might tell you,
You ARE worth that much.

He sent His son here so that He might have a relationship with you,
a relationship for all of eternity.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16

He offers you understanding,
compassion,
comfort,
forgiveness,
and most of all salvation.

If the world ever wears you down and you begin to doubt how much you are valued or how much you are loved, remember the priceless gift your Heavenly Father sent for you.
Because you matter.
You are valuable.
You are loved.

Wishing you a reminder of His love for you this Christmas and throughout the New Year!
